Our Booking Conditions describe our policies and procedures and clarify the contractual relationship between you, the Guest and us, the Owners.

Booking Terms & Conditions
1.1 The Malthouse, referred to as ‘the Property’, is owned by Misha Smith and Lucy Voice, who are referred to as ‘the Owners’.
1.2 Customers renting The Property are referred to as ‘The Guest’.
2 Duration and Times of Rental
2.1 Rentals are for a maximum of 4 weeks and commence at 4pm on the first day of the rental and end at 10.30am on the day of departure unless otherwise notified. This period will be referred to as ‘the Holiday’
2.2 The period booked will be stated on the confirmation sent by email to the guest when they book. The period booked cannot be exceeded unless we give written approval. The Guest will be liable for any costs, of whatever nature, incurred because of an unauthorised extension.
3.1 If a booking is made 8 weeks or more before your stay is due to start, a deposit of one third of the rent is payable.
3.2 If a booking is made less than 8 weeks before your stay is due to start, the full rent plus any additional charges, must be paid at the time of booking.
3.3 Should the Owners not accept or reject a booking request, all sums of money paid by the Guest in relation to the Holiday will be refunded immediately
4 Final Payment
4.1 Unless otherwise agreed by The Owners in writing the price for the Holiday shall be the rent for the Property as set out on our website, www.malthou.se at the time of booking.
4.2 Subject to the Cancellation clause below, once the booking is received and accepted by the Owners and the Guests are in receipt of the Booking Confirmation, the Guest is liable for payment of the balance of the rent along with any additional charges that may be due in relation to the Holiday
4.3 Payment of the rent and additional charges are payable to The Owners 8 weeks before the start of the Holiday. Non-payment may, at the sole discretion of the Owners be treated as notice of cancellation.
5 Changing a Booking
5.1 The dates of the Holiday may be changed providing the Property is available and the Owners accept the change. In this case a £30 re-booking fee is payable to the Owners
6.1 In the event that you need to cancel your stay at the Malthouse then a cancellation charge is payable depending on the number of days before the holiday is due to start.

28-55 days 60%
56 days or more, deposit
7 Method of Payment
7.1 Payments may be made online by credit or debit card via Stripe. A secure web link will be sent to the Guest to make payment.
8 The Holiday
8.1 The Guest has the right to occupy the property for a holiday only (within the meaning of Schedule 1, Paragraph 9 of the Housing Act 1988). The letting does not confer a short hold tenancy or give rise to a relationship of Landlord and Tenant.
9 Guest Obligations
9.1 The guest agrees:
a. To pay for any loses or damage to the property and contents caused by the guest or any member of their party (reasonable wear and tear excluded). The Owners reserve the right to reclaim any costs incurred up to the sum of £500 from the card the Guest used to pay for the Holiday. Any damages should be reported immediately so they can be put right before the next guest arrives.
b. To take good care of the property and leave it clean and tidy at the end of the holiday. A cleaning service is not provided during the holiday unless otherwise specified.
c. To permit the Owners reasonable access to the property.
d. To be considerate of neighbours in adjoining properties.
e. To not smoke inside the house.
10 Non-availability of property
10.1 If because of reason beyond our control (fire damage, flooding, Etc.) the Property is not available on the dates booked, then all charges will be refunded in full to the Guest.
11.1 The Owners accept no liability for loss or damage to the Guest’s possessions on the Owner’s property or land.
12.1 Pets are only permitted onto the property with prior written consent form the Owners. Once they are permitted they are to be kept under control and exercised off the premises.
12.2 There is a charge of £30 per pet per week or for a short break.
12.3 Pets are to be kept in the entrance yard, hall and kitchen only. Pets are not permitted in the bedrooms, on the furniture or on the mezzanine level where the black finish on the wooden floors can be easily damaged.
12.4 Pets must not be left unsupervised in the property as this can result in considerable damage to the property and distress the pet.
12.5 Any damage by the pet will be the responsibility of the guest.
12.6 If a pet is permitted to stay at the Property, the Owners reserve the sum of £500 in 9.1a above is increased to £1000
13.1 All complaints must be notified to the Owners immediately to enable remedial action to be taken.
